This topic is rated (S) for Singles and (M) for Couples in the process of marriage. 

There was a time in our community that who a man was used to be directly tied to what he did for a living… but this is less and less the case in many marriages in 2015. How much money does a brother have to bring in to 2015 to be considered a real man? If a man does not make a whole lot of money should he even open his mouth to a woman? Is a man still the man of his home if he can’t pay all the bills? Can a man still be respected by his wife and his children if he is under financial duress? Can a man still be considered a man if he’s broke? What happens to a marriage when a wife no longer respects what her husband does for a living and begins to verbalize it to him? Should a husband’s income or lack thereof be brought up every single day? Should a wife help her husband if he’s failing financially in his responsibilities towards the home? What should she be willing to do to help the family in times of financial stress? Isn’t a woman emasculating a man if she takes a job and ends up making more than he does? What about if she begins to pay the majority or all of the bills? How could a wife make things better and ease the pain of her normally productive husband? How could she make things worse? Should a husband begin to assume all the duties of a wife because he ain’t bringing in enough dough? Does money determine a man’s manhood? Should money determine a man’s manhood? How important to a man’s money to a courtship and to a marriage?
